Taxus baccata (common yew) is a member of the Taxaceae family. This conifers exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H7 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Taxus baccata can reach an ultimate height of Over 12 metres and a spread of Wider than 8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing,north–facing,east–facing,west–facing aspect and exposed,sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk,clay,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full shade,full sun,partial shade position.
