Product description & Growing guide

Hydrangea macrophylla 'Nikko Blue' (hydrangea 'Nikko Blue') is a member of the Hydrangeaceae family. This deciduous shrub exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – cold winter (-15 to -10ºc) and is hardy through most of the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open or exposed sites or central / northerly locations. Many evergreens suffer foliage damage and plants in pots will be at increased risk.

When fully mature, Hydrangea macrophylla 'Nikko Blue' can reach an ultimate height of 1–1.5 metres and a spread of 1–1.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east–facing or north–facing or west–facing aspect and sheltered positions. It thrives best in clay or loam soil types and should be placed in partial shade.
