Pileostegia viburnoides (climbing hydrangea) is a member of the Hydrangeaceae family. This climber exhibits a climbing growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – cold winter (-15 to -10ºc), and is hardy through most of the uk even in severe winters. may not withstand open or exposed sites or central / northerly locations. many evergreens suffer foliage damage and plants in pots will be at increased risk. .

When fully mature, Pileostegia viburnoides can reach an ultimate height of 4–8 metres and a spread of 1–1.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers north–facing, south–facing, west–facing, east–facing aspect and exposed, sheltered exposure.
