Product description & Growing guide

Athyrium niponicum var. pictum 'Burgundy Lace' () is a member of the Woodsiaceae family. This fern exhibits a clump forming growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – cold winter (-15 to -10ºc) and is hardy through most of the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open or exposed sites or central / northerly locations. Many evergreens suffer foliage damage and plants in pots will be at increased risk.

When fully mature, Athyrium niponicum var. pictum 'Burgundy Lace' can reach an ultimate height of 0.1–0.5 metres and a spread of 0.5–1 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east–facing or west–facing or north–facing aspect and sheltered positions. It thrives best in loam or clay soil types and should be placed in full shade or partial shade.
