Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola' (golden hakonechloa) is a member of the Poaceae family. This grasse exhibits a tufted growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. When fully mature, Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola' can reach an ultimate height of 0.1–0.5 metres and a spread of 0.1–0.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing, north–facing, west–facing, east–facing aspect and exposed, sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun, partial shade position.
