Salix alba (white willow) is a member of the Salicaceae family. This trees exhibits a growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H6 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Salix alba can reach an ultimate height of Over 12 metres and a spread of Wider than 8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers north–facing,west–facing,east–facing,south–facing aspect and exposed,sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk,clay,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
