Fragaria vesca (alpine strawberry) is a member of the Rosaceae family. This fruit exhibits a trailing growth habit and is characterized by its semi evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H6 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Fragaria vesca can reach an ultimate height of 0.1–0.5 metres and a spread of 0.5–1 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers north–facing,east–facing,south–facing,west–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in clay,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
