Brunnera macrophylla 'Betty Bowring' (Siberian bugloss 'Betty Bowring') is a member of the Boraginaceae family. This perennial exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterised by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy (very cold winter [-20 to -15ºc]) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe, with many plants grown in containers becoming damaged unless given protection.
When fully mature, Brunnera macrophylla 'Betty Bowring' can reach an ultimate height of 0.1–0.5 metres and a spread of 0.1–0.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers a north–facing, west–facing, or east–facing aspect and a sheltered position. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, or sand soil types and should be placed in full sun or partial shade.
