Tiarella 'Iron Butterfly' ® (foam flower 'Iron Butterfly') is a member of the Saxifragaceae family. This perennial exhibits a clump forming growth habit and is characterized by its semi evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection.
When fully mature, Tiarella 'Iron Butterfly' ® can reach an ultimate height of 0.1–0.5 metres and a spread of 0.1–0.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east–facing or north–facing or west–facing aspect and sheltered positions. It thrives best in chalk or clay or loam soil types and should be placed in full shade or partial shade.
