Tiarella 'Iron Butterfly' ® (foam flower 'Iron Butterfly') is a member of the Saxifragaceae family. This perennial exhibits a clump forming growth habit and is characterized by its semi evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection.
When fully mature, Tiarella 'Iron Butterfly' ® can reach an ultimate height of 0.1–0.5 metres and a spread of 0.1–0.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers an east–facing, north–facing, or west–facing aspect and a sheltered position. It thrives best in chalk, clay, or loam soil types and should be placed in full shade or partial shade.
