Solanum laxum (potato vine) is a member of the Solanaceae family. This climbers exhibits a climbing, bushy growth habit and is characterized by its semi evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H4 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Solanum laxum can reach an ultimate height of 4–8 metres and a spread of 2.5–4 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing,west–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
