Parrotia persica (Persian ironwood) is a member of the Hamamelidaceae family. This deciduous shrubs exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H6 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Parrotia persica can reach an ultimate height of 4–8 metres and a spread of Wider than 8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing,west–facing,north–facing,east–facing aspect and exposed,sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk,clay,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun,partial shade position.
