Acer griseum (paperbark maple) is a member of the Sapindaceae family. This tree is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – cold winter (-15 to -10ºc), and is hardy through most of the uk even in severe winters. may not withstand open or exposed sites or central / northerly locations. many evergreens suffer foliage damage and plants in pots will be at increased risk. .

When fully mature, Acer griseum can reach an ultimate height of 8–12 metres and a spread of 4–8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers north–facing, east–facing, south–facing, west–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun, partial shade position.
