Salvia officinalis 'Purpurascens' (purple sage) is a member of the Lamiaceae family. This perennial exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its semi evergreen foliage.

When fully mature, Salvia officinalis 'Purpurascens' can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 0.5–1 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing, east–facing, west–facing aspect and exposed, sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
