Juniperus squamata 'Blue Carpet' (flaky juniper 'Blue Carpet') is a member of the Cupressaceae family. This conifer exhibits a matforming growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of very hardy (colder than -20ºc) and is hardy in the severest European continental climates including exposed upland locations in the UK. It features a foliage fragrance.
When fully mature, Juniperus squamata 'Blue Carpet' can reach an ultimate height of 0.1–0.5 metres and a spread of 1.5–2.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers a north–facing, south–facing, west–facing, or east–facing aspect and an exposed or sheltered position. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, or sand soil types and should be placed in full sun or partial shade.
