Pittosporum tobira (Japanese pittosporum) is a member of the Pittosporaceae family. This evergreen shrub exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage.
When fully mature, Pittosporum tobira can reach an ultimate height of 2.5–4 metres and a spread of 1.5–2.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers west–facing or south–facing aspect and sheltered positions. It thrives best in chalk or loam or sand soil types and should be placed in full sun or partial shade.
