Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens' (black mondo) is a member of the Asparagaceae family. This grasse exhibits a clump forming growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – cold winter (-15 to -10ºc), and is hardy through most of the uk even in severe winters. may not withstand open or exposed sites or central / northerly locations. many evergreens suffer foliage damage and plants in pots will be at increased risk. .
