Euonymus japonicus (evergreen spindle) is a member of the Celastraceae family. This topiary exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage.
When fully mature, Euonymus japonicus can reach an ultimate height of 2.5–4 metres and a spread of 1.5–2.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east–facing, north–facing, south–facing, west–facing aspect and exposed, sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun, partial shade position.
