Ilex crenata 'Golden Gem' (Japanese holly 'Golden Gem') is a member of the Aquifoliaceae family. This evergreen shrubs exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H6 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Ilex crenata 'Golden Gem' can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 1–1.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing,west–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
