Acer campestre (field maple) is a member of the Sapindaceae family. This tree exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc), and is hardy throughout the uk and northern europe. many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection. .

When fully mature, Acer campestre can reach an ultimate height of Over 12 metres and a spread of 4–8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing, north–facing, west–facing, east–facing aspect and exposed exposure. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun, partial shade position.
