Viburnum opulus (guelder rose) is a member of the Viburnaceae family. This deciduous shrubs exhibits a columnar upright growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H6 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Viburnum opulus can reach an ultimate height of 4–8 metres and a spread of 2.5–4 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers north–facing,west–facing,south–facing,east–facing aspect and exposed,sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk,clay,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full shade,full sun,partial shade position.
