Artemisia ludoviciana 'Silver Queen' (western mugwort 'Silver Queen') is a member of the Asteraceae family. This perennial exhibits a columnar upright growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection.
When fully mature, Artemisia ludoviciana 'Silver Queen' can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 0.5–1 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing or east–facing or west–facing aspect and exposed or sheltered positions. It thrives best in chalk or loam or sand soil types and should be placed in full sun.
