Product Description & Growing Guide

Phormium tenax (New Zealand flax) is a member of the Asphodelaceae family. This evergreen shrubs exhibits a clump forming growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H5 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Phormium tenax can reach an ultimate height of 2.5–4 metres and a spread of 1.5–2.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing,north–facing,west–facing,east–facing aspect and exposed,sheltered exposure. It thrives best in loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun,partial shade position.
