Hydrangea arborescens STRONG ANNABELLE (hydrangea [Strong Annabelle]) is a member of the Hydrangeaceae family. This perennial exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection.
When fully mature, Hydrangea arborescens STRONG ANNABELLE can reach an ultimate height of 1–1.5 metres and a spread of 1–1.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers north–facing or west–facing or south–facing or east–facing aspect and exposed or sheltered positions. It thrives best in clay or loam or sand soil types and should be placed in full sun or partial shade.
