Euonymus japonicus 'Président Gauthier' (Japanese spindle 'Président Gauthier') is a member of the Celastraceae family. This evergreen shrub exhibits a bushy, columnar upright growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection.

When fully mature, Euonymus japonicus 'Président Gauthier' can reach an ultimate height of 1.5–2.5 metres and a spread of 1.5–2.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing or west–facing aspect and sheltered positions.
