Hypericum calycinum (rose of Sharon) is a member of the Hypericaceae family. This evergreen shrub exhibits a suckering growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen or semi evergreen foliage.
When fully mature, Hypericum calycinum can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 1–1.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east–facing or south–facing or north–facing or west–facing aspect and sheltered or exposed positions. It thrives best in chalk or clay or loam or sand soil types and should be placed in full shade or full sun or partial shade.
