Hypericum calycinum (rose of Sharon) is a member of the Hypericaceae family. This evergreen shrubs exhibits a suckering growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen or semi evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Hypericum calycinum can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 1–1.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east–facing,south–facing,north–facing,west–facing aspect and sheltered,exposed exposure. It thrives best in chalk,clay,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full shade,full sun,partial shade position.
