Prunus lusitanica (Portugal laurel) is a member of the Rosaceae family. This evergreen shrub exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage.
When fully mature, Prunus lusitanica can reach an ultimate height of Over 12 metres and a spread of Wider than 8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers north–facing, south–facing, west–facing, east–facing aspect and exposed, sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun, partial shade position.
