Clerodendrum trichotomum (harlequin glorybower) is a member of the Lamiaceae family. This deciduous shrub exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – cold winter (-15 to -10ºc), and is hardy through most of the uk even in severe winters. may not withstand open or exposed sites or central / northerly locations. many evergreens suffer foliage damage and plants in pots will be at increased risk. and features a flower fragrance.

When fully mature, Clerodendrum trichotomum can reach an ultimate height of 4–8 metres and a spread of 4–8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun, partial shade position.
