Hosta fortunei var. aureomarginata (gold-edged plantain lily) is a member of the Asparagaceae family. This perennials exhibits a clump forming growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H7 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Hosta fortunei var. aureomarginata can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 0.5–1 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers north–facing,west–facing,east–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in clay,loam soil types and should be placed in a partial shade position.
