Lysimachia ephemerum (willow-leaved loosestrife) is a member of the Primulaceae family. This perennial exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection.
When fully mature, Lysimachia ephemerum can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 0.1–0.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing or west–facing aspect and exposed or sheltered positions. It thrives best in clay or loam soil types and should be placed in full sun.
