Ilex aquifolium 'Argentea Marginata' (silver-margined holly) is a member of the Aquifoliaceae family. This evergreen shrub exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc), and is hardy throughout the uk and northern europe. many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection. .

When fully mature, Ilex aquifolium 'Argentea Marginata' can reach an ultimate height of Over 12 metres and a spread of 4–8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers west–facing, east–facing, south–facing aspect and exposed, sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun, partial shade position.
