Osmanthus heterophyllus (holly olive) is a member of the Oleaceae family. This evergreen shrubs exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H5 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Osmanthus heterophyllus can reach an ultimate height of 4–8 metres and a spread of 4–8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east–facing,north–facing,south–facing,west–facing aspect and exposed,sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk,clay,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a partial shade,full sun position.
