Ligustrum vulgare (wild privet) is a member of the Oleaceae family. This deciduous shrubs exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H6 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Ligustrum vulgare can reach an ultimate height of 2.5–4 metres and a spread of 2.5–4 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing,west–facing,east–facing,north–facing aspect and exposed,sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun,partial shade position.
