Acer palmatum 'Emerald Lace' (Japanese maple 'Emerald Lace') is a member of the Sapindaceae family. This deciduous shrub exhibits a spreading branched growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection. It features a flower fragrance.

When fully mature, Acer palmatum 'Emerald Lace' can reach an ultimate height of 2.5-4 metres and a spread of 2.5-4 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east-facing or south-facing or west-facing aspect and sheltered positions.
