Heuchera 'Obsidian' ® (alum root 'Obsidian') is a member of the Saxifragaceae family. This perennial exhibits a clump forming growth habit and is characterized by its semi evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection.
When fully mature, Heuchera 'Obsidian' ® can reach an ultimate height of 0.1–0.5 metres and a spread of 0.1–0.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers a north–facing, west–facing, south–facing, or east–facing aspect and an exposed or sheltered position. It thrives best in loam or sand soil types and should be placed in full sun or partial shade.
