Onoclea sensibilis (sensitive fern) is a member of the Onocleaceae family. This ferns exhibits a suckering growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H6 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Onoclea sensibilis can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 1.5–2.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east–facing,south–facing,north–facing,west–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in clay,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full shade,partial shade position.
