Betula papyrifera (paper birch) is a member of the Betulaceae family. This trees exhibits a columnar upright growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H7 and no significant fragrance.

When fully mature, Betula papyrifera can reach an ultimate height of Over 12 metres and a spread of Wider than 8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers west–facing,east–facing,south–facing,north–facing aspect and exposed,sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk,clay,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun,partial shade position.
