Wisteria floribunda (Japanese wisteria) is a member of the Fabaceae family. This climbers exhibits a climbing growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H6 and features a flower fragrance.

When fully mature, Wisteria floribunda can reach an ultimate height of 4–8 metres and a spread of 1–1.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers west–facing,south–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk,clay,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun,partial shade position.
