Product description & Growing guide

Abelia x grandiflora is a member of the Caprifoliaceae family. This evergreen shrub exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – cold winter (-15 to -10ºc) and is hardy through most of the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open or exposed sites or central / northerly locations. Many evergreens suffer foliage damage and plants in pots will be at increased risk. It features a flower fragrance.

When fully mature, Abelia x grandiflora can reach an ultimate height of 2.5–4 metres and a spread of 2.5–4 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers an east–facing or south–facing aspect and a sheltered position. It thrives best in chalk, loam, or sand soil types and should be placed in full sun.
