Arbutus unedo (strawberry tree) is a member of the Ericaceae family. This evergreen shrubs exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H5 and no significant fragrance.
When fully mature, Arbutus unedo can reach an ultimate height of 4–8 metres and a spread of 4–8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing,west–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in loam,sand,chalk soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
