Cydonia oblonga (quince) is a member of the Rosaceae family. This fruit exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – cold winter (-15 to -10ºc), and is hardy through most of the uk even in severe winters. may not withstand open or exposed sites or central / northerly locations. many evergreens suffer foliage damage and plants in pots will be at increased risk. and features a fruit fragrance.

When fully mature, Cydonia oblonga can reach an ultimate height of 2.5–4 metres and a spread of 2.5–4 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers west–facing, south–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in clay, loam soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
