Product description & Growing guide

Cydonia oblonga (quince) is a member of the Rosaceae family. This fruit exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – cold winter (-15 to -10ºc) and is hardy through most of the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open or exposed sites or central / northerly locations. Many evergreens suffer foliage damage and plants in pots will be at increased risk. It features a fruit fragrance.

When fully mature, Cydonia oblonga can reach an ultimate height of 2.5–4 metres and a spread of 2.5–4 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers west–facing or south–facing aspect and sheltered positions. It thrives best in clay or loam soil types and should be placed in full sun.
