Osmanthus aquifolium (thorny holly olive) is a member of the Oleaceae family. This evergreen shrubs exhibits a spreading branched growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H5 and features a flower fragrance.
When fully mature, Osmanthus aquifolium can reach an ultimate height of 4–8 metres and a spread of 1.5–2.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing,west–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk,clay,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
