Genista lydia (Lydian broom) is a member of the Fabaceae family. This deciduous shrub exhibits a trailing growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage.
When fully mature, Genista lydia can reach an ultimate height of 0.1–0.5 metres and a spread of 0.5–1 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers a south–facing, north–facing, west–facing, or east–facing aspect and an exposed or sheltered position. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, or sand soil types and should be placed in full sun.
