Palmstead Nurseries offers an efficient delivery service, predominantly made using our own fleet of vehicles. By avoiding contract hauliers we are able to deliver your orders when and where you need them, whether that is at 6.30am in the middle of London or 4.30pm in Ipswich. Our lorries have both curtain sides and tail-lifts to facilitate ease of unloading. By utilising a number of different methods of packaging we ensure that our plants reach their destination in first class condition. Plants will generally be packed in cardboard pallet boxes for shipping, however, please talk to sales and logistics if you require danish trollies, stillages, etc.

Wherever possible we endeavour to keep our delivery charges to a minimum. Where charges are made for delivery, these are dependent upon the order value and destination, and generally start at around £45.00 for local deliveries.

Palmstead Nurseries, like all other businesses, experience the numerous and increasing costs associated with delivering goods. Whilst we have endeavoured to absorb these costs over the years, we are no longer able to do so. Despite making distinct improvements in efficiency and investing extensively in new, more economical vehicles, we must now make nominal charges.

These charges are linked to distance from the nursery as follows: -
  • 0-25 miles (East Kent) = £45
  • 25-50 miles (Kent and East Sussex) = £70
  • 50-65 miles (London, Surrey, Essex, West Sussex) = £80
  • 65-90 miles = £90
  • Mainland UK over 90 miles price on application subject to load
  • London Congestion Zone supplement = £20
